You can discover #riceculture in the Tancat de l’Estell, located next to the village of El Palmar, 20 km south of the city of Valencia, in the very heart of the Albufera de Valencia Natural Park.

You Will learn about the rice production process, the different traditional tasks of cultivation: the “fangueo”, the sowing, the transplants and manual weeding, the drying of the rice … Depending on the time of year, you can experience some of the tasks

You will live an authentic rice farm, its life and its facilities: silos, paddy rice granaries, the “Barraca Valenciana”, the different varieties of rice that are grown, etc …

The journey may include: a boat trip through the Albufera lagoon to learn about the history and formation of the wetland, the “tancats”, etc… as well as a bird watching session, accompanied by specialists in the field.

The visit can end with the tasting of the authentic Valencian Paella, cooked on firewood, accompanied by a craft rice beer, and a rice cream liqueur tasting.

Visits are attended any day of the week by appointment for groups with a minimum of 20 people.
